Online registration for the 2008 International Conference on Emotional Intelligence (ICEI 2008) is now open. Be sure to register soon to take advantage of the special early bird registration rates.

Pre-Conference Certification Workshops
When registering for the conference, consider attending our pre-conference assessment certification workshops. We will be offering sessions for the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i®) and the Emotional Quotient–360 (EQ-360®). These sessions are recommended for attendees who are new to MHS assessments, as well as individuals who do not meet the qualification requirements to purchase the EQ-i and EQ-360. The sessions will not only help you to better understand the assessments, they will also certify you to administer the tests and provide feedback on results. Additionally, certification participants qualify to receive APA continuing education (CEU) credits.

For more information or to register for the pre-conference certification workshops, visit the registration page.

Last Call for Papers
The deadline for prospective presenters to submit presentations for ICEI is rapidly approaching. Be sure to submit your paper before January 31st. For submission guidelines and dates, consult our Call For Papers page.

Upcoming EQ-360 training

April 1, 2007

While the EQ-i® is an invaluable measure of emotional intelligence, the EQ-360® uses additional ratings by peers, supervisors, friends and/or family to gain a wide perspective on an individual’s emotional intelligence. This comparison of external ratings with the examinee’s own self-impression dramatically increases self-awareness and the effectiveness of the process. The results of EQ-360® are used to create an individual roadmap to improved emotional intelligence and ultimately to improved performance.

Sarah Collins, of Psychological Consultancy Limited (PCL) will be hosting a one-day EQ-360® conversion course Thursday 24th May 2007 at the PCL offices in Tunbridge Wells from 9am to 5pm. Qualified users of the EQ-i® are eligible to attend this one-day EQ-360® conversion course.

PCL will be offering a 15% discount on the training course, bringing the standard price of 695 GBP down to 590 GBP + VAT. The course price includes 4 FREE EQ-360® administrations and reports, the standard rate for each report is 95 GBP, meaning you will benefit from 380 GBP worth of free product. Please quote promo code EQ360May to benefit from this offer.

For additional information, or to register, contact Sarah Mills via e-mail at sarah@psychological-consultancy.com or phone 01892 559540.

EQ-360™ Certification Workshop revisions

November 1, 2006

To all our partners currently delivering EQ-360 workshops: do you have any ideas for improving the standard MHS training slides? Have you noticed any trends in your EQ-360 results? Are there scales that seem to routinely play off each other in your work? What would you like to see in future curriculum materials?

MHS is revising the EQ-360 curriculum to provide you with more effective training materials. New workshop materials are scheduled for release early next year, and we value the input our clients very highly since you have hands-on experience using our materials. If you have case studies, tips, or other applied knowledge that you could contribute, please contact Dr. Peter Papadogiannis at peter.papadogiannis@mhs.com.

Updates for the EQ-360 and BOEI assessments

October 1, 2006

At MHS we strive to continuously update our Emotional Intelligence tools to make sure that they remain current. Most recently we have sought to revise and expand two of our popular, group-based EI assessments: the Emotional Quotient–360 (EQ-360®) and the Benchmark of Organizational Emotional Intelligence (BOEI).

Those of you familiar with the benefits of using the EQ-360’s multi-rater format in your coaching and development work will be pleased to know that we further improved the assessment by expanding both the test items and generated report. Our goal for the update is to provide you with more meaningful report feedback and to do so in a more targeted manner.

The instrument now includes seven optional, open-ended questions that can be inserted or excluded for different groups in order to gather additional information on the subject’s emotional performance. Where before only one report was returned, the assessment now generates two reports at no additional cost: one report for the respondent and one report for the coach. A new Interpretive Section in the reports provides explanations for significant differences between raters, and gives strategies for improving performance.

The BOEI is now more flexible and more powerful, allowing you to further customize reports and streamline the management of large groups of respondents.

Now, you can:
· Name your reports in Scoring Organizer
· Add more groups to assess even larger organizations
· Instantly notify respondents when they have marked too many items “Not Applicable”
· Generate a separate, more detailed Open-Ended Items report at no extra cost

For more detailed information on either the updated EQ-360 or BOEI assessment, or to purchase the updated version of either assessment, contact MHS Client Services by phone at 1-800-456-3003 or via email at customerservice@mhs.com.
